Nokia X6 Slide Phone

Lately it has always been the touch screen phones that have made the headlines and the latest press. But are slide phones making a come back? Personally I hope so! Currently I have and love the qwerty keyboard phones! I am using the blackberry 9700 at the moment but which is fantastic, but I miss the idea of the slide phone with T9. Texting was a quick flick to open the phone and the thumb done all the work, with the qwerty phone it is a 2 hand operation!

A lot of people have felt let down with some of the cheaper touch phones on the market and their inability to work well. For me all the touch gadgets are great for flash but on day to day use and for user experience what phone works the best?

For me the slide phone is the all round people phone. It fits neatly in your pocket, it slides shut so no unexpected calling to your friends in your address book when you hit against the phone in your pocket. The menus all work well and as mentioned slide and then use the T9 function, its that simple to text. To call all the menus are straight forward and dialing is no problems.

The slide phone also has a partner in arms these days. The qwerty slide phone, these have all the functions of a slide phone and the work ability of a qwerty phone.

Nokia N97 Mobile Phone

However, lately I am torn between the qwerty keyboard ideas and a standard slide phone. I then decided I would go and try the sliding qwerty phones to see what they where like. my first experience of one of these was about 18 months ago when I tried out the LG KS360, this was for me a very boring phone! But roll forward 18 months and the qwerty slide handset now are amazing! The Nokia N97 and N97 mini are 2 class acts! Functions are fantastic, the down side is because the phone is so good it cost too much. If you are a pay and go user forget it as the N97 will set you back about £500. With this in mind the n97 mobile contract is a decent offer, but don’t expect to get it on the minus side of £30!

The samsung genio slide is another great qwerty slide phone. This is available on contract from £15. For this you can get lots of texts and a decent number of minutes. On pay go you will get this under £100! Here is some of the samsung genio slides features.
